The New York State Department of Financial Services (NY DFS) announced that it is extending the deadline for covered entities to file their 23 NYCRR 500 certificate of compliance from April 15, 2020 to June 1, 2020. Per their website:

Certification of Compliance – Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the deadline for Certification of Compliance for calendar year 2019 has been extended from its original deadline of April 15, 2020 to June 1, 2020.  All Covered Entities and licensed persons who are not fully exempt from the Regulation are required to submit a Certification of Compliance no later than June 1, 2020, attesting to their compliance for the 2019 calendar year.

Along with the deadline extension, the DFS is requesting all regulated industries submit their preparedness plan on how they plan to manage increased cyber risk due to this disruption. Plans should be submitted by April 9, 2020.
